Motion Graphic Design Blog
Ex'pression College for Digital Arts
In addition to teaching, I've also worked on a department blog site for the Motion Graphics Department at Ex'pression College for Digital Arts.
The site allows students to post their class work, leave comments, befriend one another, and costomize their profiles: we used the WordPress framework, and styled the site according to the official department graphics. Eventually, we hope to change the design to reflect student artwork.
Speck Products
Web & Graphic Design
One of my favorite clients, Speck Products, makes beautiful and functional hi-tech cases and bags. Here's a web graphic feature for their PixelSkin case, one of many graphics I've designed for their website.
Here's the previous graphic, featured in the site.
And another, featuring Speck Products' CandyShell case...

Scott Draves
Software Art Portfolio
A Portfolio Website for Scott Draves' fascinating Software Art.
Scott was looking for a minimalist style, to showcase the vivid colors and wild shapes of his art, written in code similar to his previous page.
In addition, there were tons of interesting exhibits to catalog,
amazing visual imagery from countless performances,
and high-resolution prints worthy of getting lost in!

Scott Draves for iGoogle
iGoogle Artist Themes
iGoogle offers a wide variety of "Artist's Themes" for its' customizable personal dashboard. I worked with fractal artist Scott Draves to develop a theme for iGoogle featuring fractals as decorative repeating elements.
The theme changes every four hours, and there are six total themes that cycle through the day. It ranges from lush, bright, full color...
to sparse and feathery...
to wild and fanciful!
The theme is featured in a series: "Google Artist Themes". It's an honor to be included among an amazing selection of designers!

Google Chrome Artist Themes
Google offers a wide variety of themes for the Chrome Web Browser. I worked with fractal artist Scott Draves to develop a theme for Chrome, featuring fractals as decorative repeating elements.
The fractal pattern repeats infinitely in the top bar. Icons and tabs are matched to the fractal art.

Angela Richardson
Photography Portfolio
Angela Richardson's beautiful photos from around the world are exhibited in her portfolio website.
A minimalist design shows off each photo on a dark background, including a custom icon set with arrows to navigate back and forth, an hourglass when the images load, and an "x" to close the window.
Detail of a semi-transparent arrow icon, designed to show the photo beneath.

Mythical Sirens for Firefox
Mozilla Firefox Artist Themes
While teaching a class on Interface Design, I created a decorative theme for the Firefox Browser incorporating my decorative magic-realist characters rendered as pixel art icons.
Here are all the windows and icons involved in the Mythical Sirens Firefox design. Tiny flowers and mythical creatures adorn every button, bar, and checkbox.
Over 400,000 people from all over the world have downloaded the Mythical Sirens theme. I still get emails from grateful users thanking me for making their browser more lovely and magical!

Scientific Learning Co.
Web & Graphic Design
Scientific Learning Co. is an amazing software company dedicated to helping people learn how to read, speak, and understand language. Here's a home page design I created for the company website.
Because Scientific Learning tests its programs scientifically, they have a lot of information they can share. Here is a Results page, showing progress in students across different locations, subjects, and student groups.
Another page in the Results series, showing student progress results by location.
Another Results page, including comparison charts and descriptions of the methods used.
I've also designed for various other Scientific Learning projects, such as this training website for educators whose students are using the Scientific Learning programs.
